Dr Catalina Wong

Catalina is originally from Hong Kong and came to New Zealand with her family in 1989.  She spent her teenage years in Christchurch where she went to St Margaret’s College.  It gave her a great experience of the Kiwi lifestyle. She trained at Otago University Medical School and completed her clinical years at Christchurch Hospital. Following this, she started her medical career at Auckland City Hospital and had her overseas experience at Westmead Hospital and the Children’s Hospital of Westmead in Sydney.  Catalina entered the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioner’s Registrar Programme and obtained her GP Fellowship in 2005.  Between 2003-2008 she worked in two very busy practices in Te Atatu and Manurewa in Auckland.

During those years, Catalina was also the GP for various rest homes and Private Hospitals for the elderly. Between 2008-2010 she worked in Hong Kong in the Family Medicine Training Team at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Catalina joined QuayMed in 2011 working four days a week. She is married to a Gastroenterologist based at Middlemore Hospital and has two daughters. Catalina enjoys General Practice very much and has a special interest in Women’s Health, Mental Health, Geriatrics and Asian Health.  She speaks Cantonese and Mandarin and looks forward to meeting you.
